Progressive Rail is a modern industrial railroad in Lakeville, Minnesota. This layout is our representation of the railroad as described in the June 2002 Model Railroader magazine. The main purpose of the railroad is to switch the industries in the Airlake Industrial Park and interchange them with the Canadian Pacific Mainline which runs just outside the premises.
This route is only 2 boards long but it is full of different industrial trackage to switch to and from the CP mainline. We have tried to model the prototype as closely as possible within the environment that TRAINZ would allow. Progressive is a great small layout. Besides the interesting trackage, we've tried to make it as realistic as possible with various trees, fencing, structures, cargo and other small details to bring the railroad to life.
